On September 5, 2024, a significant event took place in Solingen as part of the project “European Sectoral Social Partners in Education promoting inclusion of persons with special needs in education,” supported and funded by the European Commission. This all-day meeting was organized in collaboration with the Böckerhof Primary School and provided a platform for an international group of participants from Germany, France, Denmark, and Belgium to discuss the inclusion of individuals with special needs in education. The focus was on sharing best practices and developing joint approaches to make education systems across Europe more inclusive, particularly in light of challenges posed by COVID-19 and migration following the Ukraine war.

ReSartus played a key role in the execution of the event. As a translation and interpreting agency, ReSartus was responsible not only for the technical organization but also for acting as a bridge between participants and interpreters. This included providing and managing all technical equipment, such as microphones, receivers, and headsets essential for simultaneous interpretation. Additionally, ReSartus ensured that qualified interpreters were available to facilitate communication between the various languages—German and English. The professional conference interpreters enabled participants to fully engage in the discussions, regardless of the language barrier. Thus, ReSartus significantly contributed to the satisfaction of both the organizers and the international guests with the day’s outcome.

The day’s program began at 1:30 PM with an introduction to the project by representatives of ETUCE and EFEE, two key social partners in education at the European level. Later in the afternoon, education experts such as Kristina Hebing and Robert Dittrich presented approaches for including students with special needs in the German education system. These presentations were complemented by moderated discussion rounds, where the role of educational staff, school leadership, and social partners in promoting inclusion was discussed. Thanks to ReSartus, the precise and seamless simultaneous interpretation allowed these discussions to take place in real-time, overcoming language barriers. This enabled participants to fully focus on the content and work together to develop solutions.

The event was part of a larger two-year project (2024-2026) focused on the inclusion of individuals with special needs in education. The goal of the project is to identify and further develop successful strategies that promote the full integration of students and educational staff with special needs. A key aspect of this is the collaboration between educational unions and employer associations to create solutions that can be implemented at the national, regional, and local levels. During the event in Solingen, relevant challenges such as the shortage of specially trained teachers and possible solutions were discussed. The event in Solingen marked an important step in the project series, with similar visits planned in other European cities, including Bucharest. By the end of the project, the aim is to develop concrete recommendations and guidelines that can be applied at both national and European levels.

The commitment of ReSartus, both technically and organizationally, was crucial to the success of this event. The precise coordination of interpreting services and the smooth technical execution created a productive and barrier-free environment for the international guests. This highlights the importance of professional support in organizing such complex international events and the key role companies like ReSartus can play in the successful implementation of such projects.
